Monocyte Activation Test: automation of a regulatory method
Mar 11, 2026 — 03:15 pm - 4:15 PMAteliers Exposants

Conference summary
Industrial feedback on the application of the Monocyte Activation Test (MAT – Ph. Eur. 2.6.30, method 2) for the evaluation of pyrogenicity in bacterial vaccines.
Following method optimization, an automation approach for key steps (dilutions, pipetting, immunodetection) was implemented to reduce variability and improve reproducibility.
The performance obtained was compared to that of manual MAT on several products, illustrating the benefits of automation in a real industrial context.
