Inter-Laboratory Comparisons (ILC) involve conducting tests or calibrations on the same sample by different laboratories under pre-established conditions. There are different types of ILCs with varying objectives. Proficiency tests, for example, aim to assess the performance of participating laboratories. Other ILCs evaluate the performance of a measurement method implemented by all participants.
This conference cycle will test your knowledge of ILCs and provide an overview of the operation and utilization of proficiency tests.

This workshop will provide feedback on the use of chromatographic modeling as an aid for method development and transfer in gas chromatography. Based on concrete analytical situations, the choices made during changes in carrier gas, column dimensions, or detection configurations will be discussed, as well as their impacts on separation and analysis times.
The workshop will also cover pre-analysis work, particularly the choice of stationary phases and the adjustment of key chromatographic parameters (injection conditions, temperature programs, flow rates), with a focus on optimizing resolution in constrained analytical contexts.
A similar approach in liquid chromatography will be illustrated through examples in LC-MS/MS, notably for the analysis of PFAS, nitrosamines, cannabinoids, and other psychoactive substances. These cases will highlight how modeling tools can support analytical decision-making, regardless of the available instrumentation.
Pharmaceutical bioproduction suffers from high rejection rates, revealing the limitations of traditional empirical approaches. Artificial intelligence opens up transformative perspectives along two complementary axes.

The first concerns the revision of the Cosmetic Products Regulation (CPR): more than 15 years after its adoption, the EU is re-examining the entire text. Discussions are already underway through the European Commission's simplification project.
These discussions focus on sensitive topics: CMR substances, nanomaterials, SCCS governance... The objective is to modernize without complicating, to support innovation while ensuring a high level of safety, and to continue to inspire international regulatory frameworks. The second major undertaking: the revision of the 2006 Solar Recommendation. Industrial feedback on the application of the Monocyte Activation Test (MAT – Ph. Eur. 2.6.30, method 2) for the evaluation of pyrogenicity in bacterial vaccines.
Following method optimization, an automation approach for key steps (dilutions, pipetting, immunodetection) was implemented to reduce variability and improve reproducibility.
The performance obtained was compared to that of manual MAT on several products, illustrating the benefits of automation in a real industrial context.
